I realise I have been a bit slack on the promotion side of things on this blog! It must because it's all happening there. Yes, Facebook takes over, what can I say... :-)
So anyway, I have recently opened a shop onSociety 6, where you can find some of my prints, t shirts, cards, pillows, etc... It's pretty cool, and I have received two T shirts yesterday, it took only a week to arrive from the time I ordered them, not bad hey!
I apologize for using such weird models for the picture, fortunately those evil twins do not bite too often.
There's also what is left of the range of screen printed t shirts I have done on my Etsy shop.
I won't be continuing these models and colors, so if you like them go for it, they are the last of the last.
Another good news for me, this summer I will be at Salamanca Market, selling all my products (t shirts, prints, cards, helmets etc), but I will let you know on this blog and on facebook when it happens. Very exciting!
And a photo of my store at the Market last November.
Last year I was asked to do a series of illustrations for
AACT in a short timeframe. I always thought I could do something more with it if I had
more time. So today I went back through my old files and did
series of cards about the same issues and with the same given slogans.
The idea is to represent the multitude of animals being maltreated and how we humans forget
that they are individual beings and not just objects called things like livestock. Regarding wildlife, I played with the idea of individuals versus multitudes and that they are often forgotten because we don't see them. They hide!
I have just finished one year of full time studies while still working as an
illustrator when I had the time and opportunity. I took on that graphic design course to refine my skills as it had
been quite a long time since I finished my studies back in France, and years of
traveling without working much in the design area had left me feeling not quite
up to date with some stuff. This year I took on web design, animation
and a lot of print projects.
My last project was this magazine. I must say I
had very little time to work out what would be in the mag, the content, the
articles, illustrations and layout, and it was a first time for me.
of the articles are just a bit of fun and not to be taken seriously, it was also an excuse for me to showcase my illustrations in a different context ;-)
Introducing the GrrrRREeeat Sea Cucumber! I am
hoping to create a new trend here, yes. Tremble cute fury things, away
with the owls and the foxes, welcome your new favorite! Yes, bring on
Sea Cucumber brooches!! :D
No no no, I am not lazy. I am just busy. And I was on a very bad connection for awhile, which has cured me of my facebook addiction, but has made my professional life a little painful. The ADSL's now back, so there's what I have been up to:
A commissioned illustration of Hobart as lots of people dream it; A city ferry, a train, solar power, a hub for research, etc... to be printed on a postcard.
I have also done a first attempt at creating a typeface, more for the
exercise and discovery than ever considering that practice seriously. Typography is a big scary
world, and I think reading books about it and being amazed by typographer's work is as far as I feel
comfortable with it right now ;-)
There's a lot more in progress, coming this way soon.
